What to do in Orlando – Beach days – Captiva Island

Captiva Island, is situated over a small bridge from the larger Sanibel Island.

The bridge crosses at Turner Beach which is a 5 miles beach full of beautiful shells which these islands are famous for.

We were lucky enough to see a pod of dolphins one evening when we stopped off to watch the sunset and we also spotted this creature in the shallows (photo attached)

Many people visit for the shells which are in abundance, read all about shelling here:- www.captivaisland.com/shelling.html

What to do in Orlando – Water Parks – Blizzard Beach

What to do in Orlando – Water Parks – Blizzard Beach

We love both the Disney Water Parks for the slides but especially for the lazy river where you can float your cares away.

Blizzard Beach is based on a Ski Resort theme so you see lots of snow capped attractions

It’s a lovely change from a theme park day, much more relaxing.

Fort Pierce Beach – Beach days – Unwind at this beautiful beach

Fort Pierce Beach – Beach days – Unwind at this beautiful beach

We stopped off at Fort Pierce on the way back from Miami up to Orlando, it was a lovely beach.

Fort Pierce is part of the Treasure Coast which runs from St. Lucie Inlet to Sebastian Inlet along Florida’s Atlantic coast.

We had lunch at a Tiki Bar and watched the locals fishing from the sidewalk

A lovely spot for a relaxing day out
